Mr. Fred Howard Ervin, 73, of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at his home. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2015, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 3, 2015, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Clarence Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in New Cleveland Cemetery. Mr. Ervin was born in Cleveland, MS on January 10, 1942, to Fred Hollingsworth Ervin and Viola Cannon Ervin. He proudly served our country in the United States Army in Germany during the Vietnam Era and was a member of the American Legion Unit 165 in Cleveland. On January 20, 1968, he married Mary Jane Mullins in Cleveland. He worked as a machinist at Baxter Laboratory for 42 years and attended First Baptist Church in Boyle, MS. He enjoyed playing golf and loved deer hunting. Mr. Ervin is preceded in death by his parents, Fred Hollingsworth Ervin and Viola Cannon Ervin; and sister, Gilda Jo Ervin Saunders. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Jane Mullins Ervin of Cleveland, MS; daughter, Mandy Ervin Zuniga (Joe) of Cleveland, MS; his grandson who was the joy of his life, Frank Henry "Hank" Zuniga of Cleveland, MS; mother-in-law, Thelma Mullins of Boyle, MS; sisters, Charlotte Mosley (Earl) and Mollie Ervin both of Cleveland, MS; brothers-in-law, Tommy Saunders of Ocean Springs, MS, Jeff Mullins of Boyle, MS, and Mac McCaleb of Gallatin, TN; sisters-in-law, Sue McCaleb of Gallatin, TN and Dorothy Doyle Mullins of Greenville, MS; cousins who were like his brothers, John, Kenny, Mike, Jimmy, and the late Snooky Ervin; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Leslie Mosley, Marcie Mullins, Billy Castle, Ricky Banks, Paul Logan Ervin, and Andy Mullins. Honorary pallbearers will be J.M. Tweedle, Benny Mullen, Paul Ray Overstreet, Kim Showers, Cookie Webb, Billy Johnson, and Travis Washington.
