Fredrick Eugene Mullen

Fredrick Mullen, 77, of Shaw, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Cleveland Nursing and Rehab. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of life services will immediately follow beginning at 2:00 PM at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Williamson officiating. Interment will be at Linn Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr Mullen was born August 13, 1937, to the union of the late Linus and Mary Ina (Vick) Mullen. Fred, as he was commonly referred to, was one of 13 children born in union. Fred worked as a farm hand for approximately 30 years for Satterfield Farms until he retired in 2012, following the loss of his brother Ricky Dale. Fred, never married and never had any children, he did however, help to care for his great nephew (jes'Sean) and great nieces (jes'Lah and jes'Dyn) over his last years of life and adopted the children's dog (Diesel) as his own. Fred is preceded in death by four brothers: Jimmy Lee, William (Bud), Herbert Jay, Ricky Dale; and six sisters: Mary, Alma Joanne, Jeanie, Barbara Diane, Francis (Net), Nancy Sue. Fred leaves to morn one brother Benny Ray of Shaw, one sister Peggy Ruth of Jackson, MS, a nephew, Danny, whom Fred has lived with until his dementia was too far advanced to live at home, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
