Gary Sweeten

Mr. Gary Dean Sweeten, 52, of Cleveland, MS, passed away at Bolivar Medical Center, Sunday, September 4, 2011. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12:00 p.m. with Father Kent Bowlds officiating. Burial will follow services in North Cleveland Cemetery.
Mr. Sweeten was born March 25, 1959 to Wilbur Andrew Sweeten, Jr. and Mary Ellen Ferri Sweeten in Lawton, OK. He was in the US army for 10 years. He was soldier of the year in Europe. Mr. Sweeten was an avid stamp and coin collector. He was a graduate of Nurnburg High School in Nurnburg Germany.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Col. Wilbur A. Sweeten; grandparents, Albert and Vera Ferri; uncle, Eugene Tarsi; cousin, Leigh Brown Janoush; and aunt, Lois Paul.
Mr. Sweeten is survived by his mother, Mary Ferri Sweeten of Cleveland, MS; father, Wilbur A. Sweeten, Jr. of Orlando, FL; brother, Darryl Sweeten of Pennsylvania; sister, Stacy Sweeten of Pennsylvania; grandmother, Gladys Sweeten of Orlando, FL; aunts, Jeanette Ferri Tarsi and Josephine Ferri Brown (Lloyd) both of Cleveland, MS; cousins, Jeff Tarsi (Cindy) of Collierville, TN, Allison Tarsi McCrory (Bill) of Cordova, TN, Lori Tarsi Cartwright (Brent) of Jackson, MS, Michelle Tarsi Sasser (Bill) of Madison, MS, Kerri Brown Mosco (Henry) of Cleveland, MS, Kim Brown Westerfield (Andrew) of Merigold, MS, Joni Brown Cole (Louie) of Atlanta, GA, Linwood Lloyd Brown, III "Bo" (Beverly) of Olive Branch, MS, Joey Albert Brown (Stephanie) of Collierville, TN, Bonni Brown Corley (Drew) of Mansfield, TX.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Tarsi, Bo Brown, Joey Brown, Bill McCrory, Brent Cartwright, Henry Mosco, Xavier Jones, and Victor Tarsi.
Memorials can be made to Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church in Cleveland.
Special Thanks to the caregivers, nurses and doctors at Cleveland Nursing and Rehab and Bolivar Medical Center.
