George Ronald Bastari

 George Ronald Bastari, 81, of Shaw went to be with the Lord Thursday, August 18, 2022. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Shaw, MS.  Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Shaw, MS.  Pallbearers will be Chris Bastari, Josh Bastari, Daniel Bastari, Timmy Conico, Dalton Bastari, Lars Armstrong, and David Bastari.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Jacob Ryan Bastari, and Bobby Mullen.  

 George was born June 22, 1941, to Attelio and Mary Bastari in Vineland, NJ.  He married Julie Ann Frazier May 23, 1969, in Cleveland, MS.  George worked as a supervisor at Baxter for over 30 years as well as farming his families land for many years.  He is preceded in death  by his parents, Attelio and Mary Bastari; and grandchildren, Jesse Lee Atkins and Clayton Cole Bastari.

He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather.  He was an avid runner for many years, but after years of running from Shaw to Cleveland took its toll, he was forced to change his hobbies. He loved cooking. His spaghetti gravy was his trademark. He loved listening to music. Motown and Blues were his favorites. He loved spending time with his family. He also loved being  outdoors, especially cutting grass on his riding lawnmower and being out in the field on his tractor.  

George is survived by his loving wife of  53 years, Julie Bastari; children, Angela Marie Bastari of Dallas, TX,  Deborah Jane Bastari of Little Elm, TX, Chris Bastari (Shannon) of Cleveland, MS, Leigh Ann Bastari Mullen (Bobby) of Cleveland, MS, Joshua Lamar Bastari of Shaw, MS, and Daniel Bastari (Amanda) of Skene, MS; grandchildren, Fallon (Jordan), David (Lauren), Devan (Alex), Daylen, Dalton, David, Kaleigh, Lars, Presley, Jacob Ryan, Kellar; great grandchildren, Olivia, Ava, and Ella; sister, Dianne Bethards (Len) of Davie, FL; his nephew's Todd (Matilda) and John; nieces, Suzanne (William) and Amy (Giubran).
