George Ertis Milum, Jr., 73, of Cleveland, passed away February 1, 2016, at Allegiance Hospital in Greenville. Visitation will be 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 2016, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will immediately follow beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Harris officiating. Interment will be in Shaw Cemetery. Mr. Milum was born on July 23, 1943, to George Ertis Milum, Sr. and Gladys Irene Grimes Milum. He worked 40 years at Lawrence Sheet Metal, and he enjoyed hunting in his younger years. On November 11, 2000, he married Martha Frances Hannah in Cleveland, MS. He was very skilled and took pride in his yard work and gardening.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George Ertis Milum, Sr. and Gladys Irene Grimes Milum; and sister, Wanda Ray. Mr. Milum is survived by his wife, Martha "Marti" Milum of Cleveland; daughters, Alicia Hays and Memorie Thompson (Jason) both of Cleveland; sons, Ashley Madden (Brandy) of Hernando, Chris Madden of Grenada, and Carl Madden, Jr. of Cleveland; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Brenda Bramuchi (Larry), Shirley Turner (Charles) and Vickie Mathis all of Cleveland; brother, Larry Milum of Shelby; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Shane Hays, Wayne Hays, Jason Thompson, Jason Crugler, Jason Ballard, Bobby Ray, and Jeremy Peacock.
