Mr. Gerald Wayne Bardwell, 61, of Cleveland, passed away Monday, December 10, 2012, at his home. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Services will be 2:00p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2012, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. John Chouccoli and Rev. Elbert McKnight officiating. Interment will follow in Interstate Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Bardwell was born November 21, 1951 to William Edward Bardwell and Ruby Lee Mitchell Bardwell. On March 25, 1973, he married Debra McKnight in Cleveland. He loved baseball and football especially anything to do with Mississippi State University. He was a member of Interstate Baptist Church, an avid hunter, and enjoyed woodworking. He loved his work and dedicated 23 years to Douglas and Lomanson as well as 15 years to Taylor Air-conditioning before he became ill. His family was his life and he loved his granddaughters dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Edward and Ruby Lee Bardwell; brothers, Sammy Bardwell, David Bardwell and Billy Bardwell; sisters, Elsie Hanks, Patsy Mullen, and Helen Bardwell.
Mr. Bardwell is survived by his wife, Debra M. Bardwell of Cleveland; son, Wayne Bardwell of Cleveland; daughter, Samantha McIntyre (Ben) of Cleveland; granddaughters, Sydney McIntyre and Miley McIntyre both of Cleveland; and a brother, William Bardwell of Metamora, IL.
Pallbearers will be Robert LePresto, Danny Hanks, Kenny Jones, Gentle Calhoun, Rickie Stanford, and Brian Parker.
