Geraldine Miller Hutchinson

Mrs. Geraldine Miller Hutchinson, 92, of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2016, at Bolivar Medical Center. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at Cleveland Church of God. Celebration of Life services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2016, at Cleveland Church of God with Rev. Greg Chamblee officiating. Interment will be in North Cleveland Cemetery. Mrs. Hutchinson was born in Ruleville, MS, on December 9, 1923, to John Rhodum Miller and Mattie Bell Robb Miller. On October 8, 1942, she married Roman Archie "Boots" Hutchinson in Drew, MS. She was a devoted member of Cleveland Church of God, adored her preacher and church family, and had perfect attendance in Sunday School for sixteen years. She gave time to her community, serving as a volunteer for Helping Hands for over twenty years. In her spare time she enjoyed fishing, going to craft shows, camping, gardening, tending to her pecan orchard, and sewing. She was an excellent quilter, and she handed down her quilting skills to her children. Most importantly, she adored her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Rhodum Miller and Mattie Bell Robb Miller; brothers, J.R. Miller, Edward Miller, Bryant Miller, Grady Miller, and Byrd Miller; and sisters, Mattie Ruth Miller, Lillian Finley, and her twin, Jacqueline Berglund. Mrs. Hutchinson is survived by her husband of 74 years, Roman Archie "Boots" Hutchinson; daughters, Patsy Stevenson (Mike) of Drew, Pauline Byrd (Johnny) of Horn Lake, and June Sherwood (Stevie) of Cleveland; grandchildren, Michael R. Stevenson, Arthur Stevenson (Christa), Jimmy Scott (Crystal), Melissa Scott (Brandon), Penny Whatley (Tommy), and Holly McKee (Clay); 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister, Emma Grimm of Starkville; a host of nieces and nephews; and her beloved Cleveland Church of God Family. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons: Michael Stevenson, Arthur Stevenson, Jimmy Scott, Taylor Whatley, Peyton Whatley, and Price Whatley. In Memory of Mrs. Hutchinson, the family requests donations be made to Cleveland Church of God.
