Howard Aubrey Franklin

Mr. Howard Aubrey Franklin, 88, of Gunnison, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at Indywood Estates in Cleveland, MS. Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2016, at First Belleview Baptist Church in Shelby. Celebration of Life services will immediately follow beginning at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2016, at First Belleview Baptist Church in Shelby with Rev. David Koons officiating. Interment will be in Shelby Cemetery. Mr. Franklin was born in Caruthersville, MO, on March 25, 1928, to John Aubrey "Chip" Franklin and Ibbie Chilton Franklin. On May 29, 1949, he married Maxine Hinchey in Micola, MO. He loved farming and worked for over 70 years tending to crops with pure enjoyment. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and boating on the Mississippi River. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Aubrey "Chip" Franklin and Ibbie Chilton Franklin; and his wife, Maxine Hinchey Franklin. Mr. Franklin is survived by his son, Michael D. Franklin (Nancy) of Gunnison, MS; daughter, Beverly Hicks (Danny) of Cocoa Beach, FL; grandchildren, Nicole Franklin of La Mision, Mexico, Melissa Franklin of Charleston, SC, Carrie Franklin of Gulfport, MS, and Graham Franklin Hicks of St. Petersburg, FL; siblings, William Crews "Billy" Franklin (Andria) of Rena Lara, MS, Willis Calhoon Franklin (Louise) of Perthshire, MS, and Chip Wilson "Chipper" Franklin (Wanda) of Blevins, AR; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family. In memory of Mr. Franklin, the family asks that donation be made to Grace Community Hospice Patient Care Fund 316-C North Davis Ave. Cleveland, MS 38732.
