Howard Daniel "Danny" Taylor, 65, of Cleveland, MS, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of life services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at Ray Funeral Home with Bro. John Chouccoli and Bro. Larry Braswell officiating. Interment will follow in Drew City Cemetery.
Mr. Taylor was born July 28, 1947, to Howard Lemuel Taylor and Genell Hoffman Taylor. On April 27, 1997, he married Tressie Lanelle Grimmett. He enjoyed trail riding, hunting, and his truck. He worked most of his lifetime as a truck driver and was employed with Valley Foods for over 14 years. He was a loving and giving person and as a final gift, he was an organ donor.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Nell McIntyre Taylor; daughter, Rita Taylor; father, Howard Lemuel Taylor; and brothers, Dicky Taylor, David Taylor, Sr., and Gene Taylor.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife, Tressie Lanelle Taylor, of Sevierville, TN; daughters, Renee Harmon (Destry) of O'Fallon, MO, Rhonda McDaniel (Mike) of Cleveland, MS, Ammie Lyons of Sevierville, TN, Tiffany Grimmett of Sevierville, TN; mother, Genell Taylor of Cleveland, MS; brothers, Darrell Taylor (Carol) of Cleveland, MS, Jerry Taylor (Vicki) of Cleveland, and Jimmy Taylor of Missouri; sister, Donna Yates (Doug) of Arkoma, OK; and grandchildren, Destry Harmon, Courtney Harmon, Chris Harmon, John McDaniel, Trey McDaniel, Robert Alan McDaniel, Jr., Kenny Lyons, Jr., Matthew Lyons, Mallory Lyons and Madison Ogle.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Lyons, Jr., Matthew Lyons, Robert Alan McDaniel, Jr., Kevin Yates, David Taylor, Jr., Craig Taylor, Chris Taylor, and Robert Grimmett. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Havens, Dan Bell, Mike McCain, Donald Kirkland, and Gary Haney.
In Memory of Mr. Taylor, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
