Hubert Gant

Mr. Hubert Calvin Gant, 91, of Merigold, MS, passed away, Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland, MS. Visitation will be Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Morrison Chapel from 12:30- 2:00 p.m.. Celebration of life service will be Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Chapel with Bro. John Thomas officiating. Burial will follow after services in Lehrton Cemetery.
Mr. Gant was born to Thomas George Gant and Lois Mayo Gant on September 26, 1919 in Quitman County. He married Louise Bullock January 12, 1946. Mr. Gant served his country in the Army from January 1941- 1948 and served in both in the Pacific and Europe.
He is survived by his son, Donald Gant (Lil); daughter, Linda Gant Douglas (Bobby); grandchildren, Mike Gant (Michelle), Heath Douglas (Janelle), Cindy Mounce (Michael), Scott Gant (Leigh-Anne); great-grandchildren, Megan Gant, Darby Douglas, Anna Scott Gant, Carsley Gant, Brett Gant, Parker Douglas, Emily Louise Mounce; brother, Ernest "Son" Gant; numerous nieces and nephews; special caregivers, Diane Fly, Rosie Wright, Ruth Ann Bailey, and Eva Jackson.
Mr. Gant is preceded in death by his wife, Louise Bullock Gant; parents, sister, Mary Helen Gillispie, Pearl Ivey; brothers, Austin Gant, Homer Gant, Grady Gant, Orville Gant, and Allen Gant.
Pallbearers will be Mike Gant, Heath Douglas, Scott Gant, Michael Mounce, James Gant, and Greg Jackson.
