On January 14, 2011, Imogene Vowell Terrell, 84, joined her husband, Benjamin Franklin Terrell, in heaven. Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 16, 2011, at Ruleville Baptist Church with Bro. Higdon Herrington officiating. Burial will follow at Lehrton Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. Sunday and will end at service time.
Imogene was born August 21, 1926 in Webster County, MS to Willie Marvin Vowell and Ruby Mae Gibson. She married Franklin Terrell in 1945 after he returned from WWII. They had four children: Gary (Christi) Terrell of Charlotte, NC; Ronald (Carol Ann) Terrell of Ruleville; Becky (Bobby) Turner of Merigold; and David (Lisa) Terrell of Raymond, MS.
She is survived by all of her children, sisters Nell Seghers of Diamondhead, Juanita Wilkins of Drew, and brother James Kenneth (Lady Jane) of Huntsville. Other survivors include sister-in-law Jo Vowell of Cleveland, seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Marjorie Powers of Greenville, brother Jack Vowell of Cleveland, and grandson Heath Terrell.
Mrs. Terrell worked at Planters Bank and Trust Company in Ruleville, for 35 years. She was a devoted member of Ruleville Baptist Church where she taught the Lydia Sunday School Class for many years. A true southern lady, she enjoyed gathering with friends and family for any occasion (especially playing cards). She was a fantastic cook and gracious hostess. We will miss her sweet spirit and beautiful smile.
Grandchildren: Joseph Franklin (Brandi) Terrell, Melanie Terrell (Jason) Estridge, Terrell Turner (Darrell) Forman, Elise Turner Cobb, Robert Bush (Claudia) Turner, Tyler Gilliland, and Drew Gilliland.
Great Grandchildren: Kylie, Madison, and Sarah-Grace Terrell; Will, Mary Peyton, and Cole Estridge; Brett, Kathleen, and Meredith Forman; Kathryn Elise Cobb and Jaycee Marie Turner.
In lieu of flowers, please give memorials to the Ruleville Baptist Church or Walter B. Crook Nursing Facility in Ruleville.
