Inez Hampton

Mrs. Inez McNeely Hampton, 86, of Cleveland, passed away Friday, December 5, 2014, at St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be 12:00-1:00 p.m. Monday, December 8, 2014, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will immediately follow beginning at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 8, 2014, at Ray Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Hill officiating. Interment will be in Delta Heights Memorial Garden Cemetery.
Mrs. Hampton was born in Ruleville, MS on August 11, 1928, to Thomas Jefferson McNeely and Ina Ulater Gates McNeely. She was a devout Christian woman and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. A hardworking woman who started out sharecropping, she also worked at Color Tile for over 30 years. Even after retirement, she continued working until age 84 cleaning houses daily. She loved flowers, gardening, and cooking. Most importantly, she was a selfless woman who enjoyed caring for others.
She is survived by her children, Debra Hampton Granger (Rick) of Alexandria, IN, David Hampton (Staci) of Sierra Vista, AZ, Wanda Hampton Collier (Bruce) of Dockery, and Roger Hampton of Cleveland; grandchildren, Richard Blaylock of Puthamville, IN, Lisa Sciscoe (Mark Hobbs) of Alexandria, IN, Tommy Sciscoe (Lyndzey) of Alexandria, IN, Brandie Nicole Hampton of Dallas, TX, Amanda Jean Hampton of Winnsboro, TX, Nicole Paige Foxworth of Tucson, AZ, Michael Curtis McCain, JR. (Michele) of Flora, Jason Shaw (Cassie) of Cleveland, and Kristy Barnett of Troy, TN, Dalten Hampton of Cleveland, MS, and Blake Hampton of Cleveland, MS; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, George McNeely of Ripley, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews.
