Iris Steed

Ms. Iris Moore Steed, 83, of Cleveland, MS passed away January 13, 2010, at her daughters home. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 11:00 am. at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Chouccoli officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Ray Funeral Home from 10:00- 11:00 a.m.. Burial will follow the funeral in North Cleveland Cemetery.
Ms. Steed was born April 25, 1927 in Midnight, MS to Phillip C. Moore and Mabel M. Hall. She graduated from Silver City High school and from Sunflower Junior College. She worked for the Mississippi Highway Patrol as a Drivers License Examiner from 1981- 1992. Ms. Steed also worked as dispatcher for the Cleveland Police Department. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, and visiting with friends on the phone. Ms. Steed was a devoted mother and loved her children.
She is survived by her daughters, Beth Childers and her husband Jimmy of Cleveland, MS and Anne Teadt and her husband Ray of Pass Christian, MS; two grandchildren,Amanda Holifield Ulman (Eric) and Sarah Holifield Carambat; one great-grandchild, Joseph Carambat; grand-puppy, Krissi Childers; and special friend, Marie Curry.
Pallbearers will be Lee Tedder, Jimmy Tedder, Luther Childers, Mike Mullens, Truitt Hobby, and Melvin Steadman.
