James Edwin Peacock

Mr. James Edwin Peacock, 77, of Boyle, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2015, at his home. Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Ray Funeral Home. Memorial Services will immediately follow beginning at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Ray Funeral Home with Wayne Moore officiating.
Mr. Peacock was born in Belzoni, MS, on May 27, 1937, to William Edwin Peacock and Grace Naron Peacock. He was a professional Tree Surgeon and owner of Peacock Tree Surgery for over 56 years, and he handed down the business to his son Butch who has worked alongside him for 40 years. He developed many wonderful business relationships in and around the greater Delta Region. He also was accomplished in building a large family of 9 children of which he was very proud.
Mr. Peacock's hobby was tinkering and building many tools and machinery of his own designs. He was also a lover of odd antiquities. He is preceded in death by his parents, William E. Peacock and Grace Naron Peacock; sons, William Calvin Peacock and Sharmon Lynn Peacock; daughter, Janet Lee Peacock; granddaughter, Donna Amanda Reynolds; and sister, Meda Jean Lee.
Mr. Peacock is survived by his sons, James Edwin "Butch" Peacock,Jr.(Tammy) of Boyle, MS, Danny Lamar Peacock (Anji) of Rogers, AR, Joshua Layne Peacock (Kathryn) of Shaw, MS, and Dayne Rickels of Fayetteville, AR; daughters, Donna Jo Peacock of Boyle, MS and Marilynn Kay Hewitt (Keith) of Cleveland, MS; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; brother, Carl Peacock (Wilma) of Huntsville, AL; and sisters, Betty Garrison of Columbus, MS, Eleanor Comeau (Tim) of Milo, ME, and Nancy Shelton (Ronnie) of Millport, AL.
