James Garrett

James Garrett, 47, of Cleveland, passed away Monday, April 13, 2015, at South Sunflower County Hospital in Indianola, MS . Visitation will be 9:00 till 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 14, 2015, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Braswell officiating. Interment will be in Delta Heights Memorial Garden Cemetery. Mr. Garrett was born on September 19, 1967, to Susie Williams Garrett and Virgil James Garrett, Jr. He attended Cleveland High School and took a cooking course and becoming ServSafe Certified. He worked many years as a cook at Merigold Truck Stop as well as Bell Elementary School. He loved to cook, work in his garden, and take care of his flowers.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil James Garrett, Jr. and Susie Williams Garrett. Mr. Garrett is survived by his aunts, Martha Flanagan of Cleveland and Lorene Dickerman of South Dakota; uncles, Arthur Garrett of Cleveland, Charles A. Flanagan of Sherwood, AR, and Earl Flanagan of Coila, MS; and a host of friends.
