James Holder

James Alfred "Ned" Holder, 78, of Ruleville, passed away March 3, 2014, at North Sunflower Medical Center. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m - 12:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Ruleville Baptist Church. Celebration of Life services will immediately follow beginning at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Ruleville Baptist Church with Corey Lancaster officiating. Interment will follow in Lehrton Cemetery.
Mr. Holder was born September 27, 1935, to John Alfred Holder and Ollie Mae Holder. He was married to Patricia Holder. He was a successful coach, farmer, Justice Court Judge, and sheriff of Sunflower County. He was a member of Ruleville Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John Alfred Holder and Ollie Mae Holder; brothers, John Herman Holder and Billy Holder.
Mr. Holder is survived by his wife, Patricia Holder; sons, Scott Holder (Pam), Todd Holder (Amanda); daughter, Kay Downs (Ricky); step-children, Brian Ward (Tammy), Paige Burns (Scott); grandchildren, Blake Holder, Ashley Holder, Ty Holder, Reed Downs, Sarah Frances Downs; step grandchildren, Bailee Goss, Olivia Burns, Dylan Ward, McKenzie Ward, and Seth Ward.
Pallbearers will be Blake Holder, Ty Holder, Reed Downs, Barry Holder, Johnny Holder, and Robert Thompson. Honorary Pallbearers will be his Sunday School Class.
Memorials may be made to Mississippi Kidney Foundation.
