James Willingham

Mr. James William "Dick" Willingham, 83, of Ruleville, MS, passed away Monday, August 29, 2011 at North Sunflower Medical Center in Ruleville, MS. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Ray Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Celebration of life service will be at 1:00 p.m. at the Cleveland Church of Christ, Thursday, September 1, 2011 with Bro. Tim McCarter officiating.
Mr. Willingham was born November 21, 1927 to William Thomas Willingham and Minnie May Viner in Ruleville, MS. He married Ollie Sue Chandler on December 1, 1945 in Ruleville, MS. They were married for 65 years. Mr. Willingham was a WWII veteran. He was a Master Mason and was a member of the Drew Lodge #0459. He was a volunteer fireman in Ruleville, MS and enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years. He was in the food service for many years, where he met many friends and created friendships for his lifetime. He was a faithful member of the Cleveland Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas and Minnie May Willingham; four sisters, Arlene Bowling, Clarice Kemp, Edna Earl Cameron and Dot Peyton; brother, Bob Willingham; and grandchild, John Robert Dobbs.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ollie Sue Willingham of Ruleville, MS; daughters, Kathy Givens (Galen) of Cleveland, MS, Carol Moore (Johnny) of Cleveland, MS and Margaret Dobbs (John) of Monroe, LA; son James William "Dicky" Willingham, Jr. (Jan) of McComb, MS; grandchildren, Chad Givens (Tish), Harvey Green (Missy), Raychel Lunceford (Jason) and Nicole Holland; eight great-grandchildren, Austin, Luke, and Beau Green, Mason, Seth, and Chandler Givens, Claire Willingham and Blake Holland.
Pallbearers will be Galen Givens, Robert Willingham, Billy Willingham, Bert Oakes, Bob Pederson, and John Oakes.
Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Moore, John Dobbs, Ralph Smith, Rodney Shivers, Roscoe Hooper, Tommy David Bowling, Bill Story, Bernard Threet, and Frankie Peyton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cleveland Church of Christ or charity of your choice.
