Jan Stevens

Jan Hughes Stevens, 62, of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at Cleveland Personal Care. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2014 at Roundaway Baptist Church. Celebration of Life Services will immediately follow beginning at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2014 at Roundaway Baptist Church with Bro. Bob Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Roundaway Baptist Cemetery.
Ms. Stevens was born April 15, 1952, to Thomas E. Hughes and Josephine Pressgrove Hughes. She worked as a nurse for 25 years, a good number of those years were at Bolivar Medical center. She enjoyed sewing and crochet; she was crazy about her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved the history of her family, telling old stories and sharing old pictures. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Yazoo City. She was a Braves fan and loved college football.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Josephine Hughes.
Ms. Stevens is survived by her children, Amy Stevens Porter of Yazoo City, MS and Lee Stevens (Maria) of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Taylor Porter and Sydney Porter both of Yazoo City, MS, and Isabel Stevens of Murfreesboro, TN; brother, Terry Hughes (Linda) of Clinton, MS; and a host of Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
