Jane Smith Lowery passed away peacefully on July 13, 2021 at the age of 90 yr. Jane grew up in Cleveland and married her high school sweetheart, Bob Lowery, in November of 1952. Jane loved to take care of people. She was excited to become an RN after graduating from King's Daughter's Nursing School in 1952 and throughout her life never hesitated to help with the care of family and friends. She nurtured people of all ages. For over 25 years, she loved and taught the toddler Sunday school class at First United Methodist Church. Spending time with family and friends was always a joy for Jane, and she absolutely adored her grandchildren.
Mrs. Lowery is survived by her children Robert G. Lowery Jr., Glynda Lowery Heath (Kelly), and Peggy Lowery Lara ( Dan); her grandchildren Robbie Heath, Grant Heath, Glyn Heath, Allie Pruitt, and Maggie Pruitt; and her brother, Kent Smith. Jane was also blessed with many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Lowery and her parents, Elmer and Maggie Smith. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Judy Godbold, Frankie Barlow, Becky Kellow,and Sta Home Health and Hospice for their love and care during these last few years. A service will be held for Jane on Saturday, July 17th at Ray Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00pm -2:00pm with the service starting at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First United Methodist Church in Cleveland.
