Janice Rose Litton Seymore

Janice Rose Litton Seymore, 79, of Benoit, MS, was called home to be with the Lord on September 14, 2019 at North Sunflower Medical Center while surrounded by family. A visitation honoring Mrs. Janice will be held 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Ray Funeral Home with Brother Chris Harris officiating. Interment will be held in North Cleveland Cemetery.
Janice was born June 09, 1940 to the late Raleigh Martin Litton Sr. & Minnie Lee Price Litton in  Longshot, MS. She attended Greenville Public Schools. Janice was employed at Greenville Mill prior to the family's move to Rosedale in 1972. She worked along side her husband for more than 30 years in the gas station/convenience store business; first in Rosedale and later in Benoit where Janice and Sonny moved to in 1995. Janice retired from the business in 2008. She spent most of her retirement days working in her garden, her flower beds, and pecan orchard. When Janice wasn't working outdoors, she was spending time with her family. She attended First Baptist Church in Rosedale prior to suffering a debilitating stroke in 2016.  Janice resided at Walter B. Crook Nursing Home in Ruleville, MS.  She was loved and will be missed by many.
Janice was preceded in passing by her loving husband of 50 years, Gary Wayne " Sonny" Seymore, Sr.; her parents, Raleigh & Minnie Litton; her infant daughter, Cheryl Lynn Seymore; brother, Raleigh Martin "Sonny" Litton Jr., Sister, Betty Ruth Litton Mitchell; and grandson, Clifton B. "Cliff" Medders, Jr.
Janice is survived by her son, Gary W. Seymore Jr. (Kay) of Benoit, MS; two daughters, Angela S. Medders of Cleveland, MS and Debra S. "Debbie"  Joel of Cleveland, MS.; two sisters, Becky Litton Folmar of Ozark, AL and Nan Litton O'Donnell of Globe, AZ; six grandsons, Jay Joel, Jeff Joel, John Joel, Jarrod Joel, Butch Bassie, and Michael Bassie; six great grandsons, Justin Joel, Bennett Joel, Jace Joel. Jax Joel, Owen Medders, and Lee Michael Bassie; and 2 great granddaughters, Kate Ellis Joel and Anna James Joel.
