Mr. Jerry Lewis Wigington, 73, of Shaw, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014, at University Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2013, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will immediately follow beginning at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at Ray Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Haney and Bro, John Chouccoli officiating. Interment will be in North Cleveland Cemetery.
Mr. Wigington was born June 30, 1940, in Alligator, MS to Ralph Wigington and Vivian Bruce Wigington. In 1958, he graduated from Cleveland High School and continued his education at Delta State University by obtaining a Bachelors Degree in Math. On May 30, 1964, he married Bonnie Fay Lamb in Memphis, TN. He taught math for 33 years at Cleveland High School. He loved teaching and dedicated his life to his students and education. He enjoyed waterskiing and swimming. Mr. Wigington was a member of Kiwanis for 25 years; as well as Interstate Baptist Church, Shaw Lions Club, and the American Legion.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Vivian Wigington; brother, Ralph Wigington; and son, Jeffrey Wigington.
Mr. Wigington is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Bonnie Wigington of Shaw, MS; son, Johnny Wigington (Suzy) of Mooreville, MS; and granddaughter, Gracie Owen of Mooreville, MS.
In Memory of Mr. Wigington, donations may be made to Interstate Baptist Church or the organization of your choice.
