Jo Tucker Vowell

Jo Tucker Vowell, 85, of Cleveland, MS, went to be with the Lord on October 28, 2020. A public visitation will take place from 10:00-11:00 AM at Ray Funeral Home on October 30, 2020 with a graveside service following at Lehrton Cemetery. She was born on November 21, 1934 in Nashville, TN. She married Jack Gibson Vowell on December 26, 1955 in Ruleville, MS. Jo and her husband were co-owners and operators of Pic-A-Bit Convenient Food Stores for over 40 years. She enjoyed her facebook friendships, Mississippi State sports, casino trips (when she was able), and shopping.. Mostly she enjoyed spending time with her large family, which consisted of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Jack Gibson Vowell. She is survived by her children, Gayle Raby (Keith), Cindy Kempenski (Jerry), Lori Jennings (Gary), and Jackie Hale (Tim); 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 2 on the way; brother-in-law, James Vowell (Lady); sister-in-law, Juanita Wilkins; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers for this service will be her grandsons, Matthew Raby, Michael Raby, Mitchell Raby, Tucker Jennings, Trent Jennings, Corey Hale, Taylor Hale, and Parker Hale. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren, Ryan Jennings, Kelsey Carver, Kellie Montgomery, and Justin Kempenski. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Lehrton Cemetery Fund.
