Joan Neal

Joan Elaine Neal, 85, of Memphis, passed away Monday, December 9, 2013, at North Sunflower Medical Center. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 12, 2013, at Ray Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Ray Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Haney officiating.
Mrs Neal was born in Drew, MS on February 5, 1927, to Jessie D. Shurden and Arlie Griffen Shurden. She worked as an interior designer for 56 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Greenville, and she loved to sew and attend social functions.
She is preceded in death by daughter, Jackie Neal; sisters, Jean Holthoff and Warrene Shurden Tonnar; and brothers, Mark Shurden and David Shurden, MD.
She is survived by her sister, Jessie Margaret Shurden Wilson of Marks, MS;2 grandsons, Jackson Drew and David Drew of Lake Village, AR; caregiver, Niki Haney of Ruleville; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
