Mrs. Joann Langston McDaniel, 66, of Cleveland, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012, at her daughter's home in Water Valley. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Ray Funeral Home with Bro. Clarence Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in North Cleveland Cemetery.
Mrs. McDaniel was born December 5, 1946, to Willis Alton Langston and Lucie Jewel Henderson Langston. On December 24, 1964, she married Cecil Larry McDaniel in Cleveland. She was the co-owner of Cornerstone Christian Bookstore and worked for Nehi Bottling Company for many years. She stayed actively involved with the many churches her husband was a Baptist preacher at, and was currently a member of First Baptist Church in Boyle. She enjoyed painting, maintaining her flower garden, and spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alton Langston and Lucie Langston Tubbs; husband, Bro. Larry McDaniel; and daughter, Melissa "Lisa" Mullins.
Mrs. McDaniel is survived by her daughter, Patricia Lane (Kenny) of Water Valley; son-in-law, Jeff Mullins of Boyle; grandsons, Kenny Lane II (Stacey) of Oxford and Andy Mullins of Boyle; granddaughter, Jessica Forbes (Austin) of Boyle; sisters, Kay Pyron of Cleveland, Judy Ford of Water Valley, and Brenda Hoop of Taylor; and a host of extended family and friends.
In memory of Mrs. McDaniel, memorials can be made to First Baptist Church in Boyle.
