Robert Laverne "Joey" Springer, Jr., 61, of Cleveland, MS, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2019, at his home. A Graveside Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2019, at New Cleveland Cemetery with Rev. Milton Burd officiating.
Joey was born on September 2, 1957, to Robert and Billie Jo Ann Springer in Greenwood, MS. He went to Cleveland High School where he played baseball then went on to take classes in Memphis and Moorehead. Joey worked as a machinist for Planters Equipment in Cleveland until retirement. He enjoyed to cook on the grill, golf, fish, and garden. Joey was an avid sports fan whether he was watching or playing.
He is preceded in death by his son, Trey Springer; and parents, Joe and Billie Jo Ann Springer.
Joey is survived by his children, Joelle Springer or Cleveland and Richard Rogers of Mexico; brother, Jeff Springer; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
