John Aaron Wilson, 71, of Cleveland, MS went home to be with the Lord on December 2, 2020. A Visitation service will take place at Ray Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 from 10-11 a.m. with a Celebration of Life Service following at 11 a.m. Interment will immediately follow at the Old Cleveland Cemetery. John was born on November 6, 1949 in Cleveland, MS to George Alaska Wilson and Beatrice Mullen Wilson. He married Sylvia Cooper on June 15, 1974 and had two children. Dad was a member of the Cleveland Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed working the land that he grew up on and passing that knowledge down to his kids and grandkids. He was constantly working on multiple projects and loved a good challenge. His intellect and whit would catch many off guard, and he loved it! But what he loved the most was his family. He was always checking in on his kids and figuring out new ways to spoil his grandkids. We will miss his clever smile and classic one liners, but most of all we will miss being able to hear his calming voice giving sound advice or just reassuring us that everything would be ok. He is preceded in death by his parents George and Beatrice Wilson; and brother, Clyde Wilson. He is survived by his son, Taylor Wilson; daughter, Jane Snyder; brother, George Wilson; sisters, Diane Campbell and Frances Sanders; four grandchildren, Gabriella, Alayna, Alexandria, and Conor; and a host of many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Neil Gong, Steve Ray, Phil Campbell, William Lindsey, Vincent Delahoussaye, and Michael Sanders. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Campbell, Jacob Campbell, Dan Lara, and Ben Ferri. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation.
