John Dickinson Tiftickjian, Jr.

John Dickinson Tiftickjian, Jr., 67, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at his home in Cleveland, MS. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00PM on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Ray Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held on 1:00PM, July 2, 2019 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Cleveland, MS.
John was born on May 28, 1952 to John Dickinson Tiftickjian, Sr. and Elizabeth Pauline Schifferli in Zanesville, OH. On June 23, 1973, he married Sarah Ann Budd in Lakeland, FL. John was a Biology and Botany professor, which gave him the chance to share his avid love for science. He stood as a department chair at Delta State University and was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Cleveland, MS. John was a Master Gardener, an advisor to students, friends, and family. He loved all things nature, technology, and science, especially Apple computers, plants, mountains, and birds.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John Dickinson Tiftickjian, Sr. and Elizabeth Pauline Schifferli; and his brother, Michael Tiftickjian.
John is survived by his wife, Sarah Tiftickjian of Cleveland, MS; his children, Amy Tiftickjian Hutchinson of Memphis, TN and John Tiftickjian, III of Cleveland, MS; his grandchildren, Morgan Hutchinson, Helen Hutchinson, Jessica Hutchinson, Alex Hutchinson, Dylan Tiftickjian, and Tucker Tiftickjian; his great-grandchildren, Jesse Hutchinson and Maisy Lowery; and his brother, William Tiftickjian.
