John Jordan

John Earl Jordan, Sr., of Hammond, Louisiana, formerly of Sunflower, Mississippi died November 4, 2011 at his home in Hammond, Louisiana. He is survived by his wife, of 49 years, Inez Evans Jordan, of Hammond, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nora Mae Carraway Morgan and Willie E. Jordan, and sister Betty Sue Jordan Sumrall.
He is also survived by his two children, John Earl Jordan, Jr. of Hammond, Louisiana and Richard Craig Jordan of Picayune, Mississippi. He had 4 grandchildren, Zachery Ryan Jordan of Leaksville, Mississippi, Megan Jordan and Julia Jordan of Covington, Louisiana, Evan Jordan of Warsaw, Indiana, and one great grandchild, Daisy Lea Jordan of Hammond, Louisiana. Also, he is survived by his two brothers, Billy Jordan of Tupelo, Mississippi and Jimmy Jordan (Margaret) of Houlka, Mississippi; three sisters, Dorothy Jordan Marcellus of Gulfport, Mississippi, Susie Jordan Gray of Columbus, Mississippi and Ruth Ann Morgan Free (Tommy) of Saltillo, Mississippi.
He was retired from Super Valu, Inc., where he worked for 32 years as a Warehouse Manager. He served in the Mississippi National Guard for 8 years in Moorhead, Mississippi. He was a member of Sunflower Baptist Church and a Member of Mississippi Masonic Lodge #450 of Indianola, Mississippi.
Visitation will be at the Harry McKneely Funeral Home in Hammond, Louisiana from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 6, 2011. A second visitation will be held at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, Mississippi at 2:00 p.m. and services at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, November 7, 2011. Burial will follow at the North Cleveland Cemetery.
