John Perrett

John Daniel Perrett, 86 passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024, in Ridgeland, Mississippi. John was born in Martinville, Mississippi, on June 21, 1938, to Henry and Lona Perrett. He was raised in Mendenhall, Mississippi. He graduated from Mendenhall High School. John began his 41 years career with Mississippi Valley Gas Company in Jackson, Mississippi in 1964. Over the years, John was promoted to several cities in Mississippi before he made Cleveland, Mississippi his home. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He also enjoyed spending time and grilling out with family and friends. In his earlier years, he was fireman for the Voluntary Fire Department in Hernando, Mississippi. He also was the President and active member of the Lions Club in Hernando, Mississippi. He served in the Mississippi Army National Guard. He was a member of the Cleveland Rotary Club and also a member of First Baptist Church in Cleveland, Mississippi. John loved the Lord. He enjoyed studying and reading God’s word. He also served as a Sunday School Teacher during his years in Hernando, Mississippi. John is survived by his devoted and loving children, son, Michael Perrett (Pam) of Nesbit, MS; daughter, Kristie Perrett Sbravati of Madison, MS; son, Danny Perrett (Elizabeth) of Madison, MS; his two grandsons, Nathan Perrett (Darby) of Cleveland, MS; Josh Perrett (Nikki) of Senatobia, MS; his granddaughter, Reed Perrett of Madison, MS; his great-grandson, Dawson Perrett of Senatobia, MS; brother-in-law, Gerald Lester (Theresa) of Petal, MS. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Peggy Perrett; parents, Henry and Lona Perrett; brother, Harold Perrett and sister-in-law, Shirley Perrett; sister, Jean Byrd and brother-in-law, Shelby Byrd; and son-in-law, David Sbravati. Visitation will be held at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland on Tuesday, July 2nd from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM followed by a graveside service at North Cleveland Cemetery from 12:45 PM.
