Johnny L. Moore Jr. 64, of Cleveland, MS was called home to be with the Lord on March 2, 2023. A visitation will be Tuesday, March 7, 2023 from 12-1pm at Cleveland Church of Christ. Followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00pm at Cleveland Church of Christ with a graveside service in the Lehrton Cemetery, Ruleville.
Johnny was born on May 12, 1958, in Cleveland, MS to John L & Sarah Alice Wilson Moore. Johnny grew up in Cleveland where he attended and graduated from Cleveland High School in 1976. Johnny went on to work for Case International Planters Equipment as a parts salesman for twenty-three years. Johnny also worked for John Deere as Parts manager for five years. Johnny married his loving wife Carol Willingham on February 3, 1995, in Pearl, MS. In Johnny’s spare time he loved to work in his garden, which most of his family would say he had a green thumb. Johnny loved the outdoors and deer hunting with his cousin, Allen Mitchell. Since his accident he had a gun that was specially made to allow him to continue to hunt. His wife took him hunting and he was able to kill a deer. Johnny loved riding his motorcycle with his buddies and traveling. Johnny had a great love for his dogs over the years especially Snowflake. He was a faithful member of Cleveland Church of Christ. Johnnytaught Bible classes and was a counselor at Sardis Lake Christian Camp for many years. Johnny was also one of the best Assistant meteorologists. He would call in every day to WABGto give Christopher Mathis daily updates. Most of all Johnny was a devoted, loving husband, father, Papa, brother, and friend who was adored by all who knew him.
Johnny is preceded in passing by his parents, John L & Sarah Alice Moore.
Johnny is survived by his loving and devoted wife of twenty eight years, Carol Moore of Cleveland,MS, five children, Nickie(Bryant) Moore of Cleveland,MS, Jamie(Cliff) Logan of Cleveland,MS, Katie(Nathan) Moore of Ruleville, MS, Harvey Green II(Missy) of Madison,MS, Raychel(Jason) Lunceford of Clarksdale,MS, nine grandchildren, Keifer, Kensley, Kross, Nokzen, Austin, Luke, Beau, Conner, and Lawson. One loving sister, Betty Alice Gary of Cleveland,MS.
The family wanted to send a special thank you for all the love and care provided by the special caregivers which include; Susie Tyler, Belle Hampton, Jackie Mitchell, and Eugene Lewis.
All memorials can be made to Cleveland Church of Christ or a charity of your choice.
