Jonathan Parker Watson, 12, of Boyle, passed away on December 29, 2017, at his home. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 31, 2017, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will immediately follow beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 31, 2017, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Benny Haynes officiating. Interment will be in North Cleveland Cemetery.
Parker was born on April 30, 2005, to Justin Duane Watson and Amanda Lowery in Hinds County. He loved to watch Paw Patrol, Bubble Guppies, and Blaze and Monster Machine.
He is preceded in death by his great-grandfathers, Jimmy Watson and H.C. "Papaw" Lowery, Sr.; great-grandmother, Louise Oswalt; great-great-grandmother, Lorene Steadman; and great uncle, Danny Oswalt.
Parker is survived by his mother, Amanda "Mandy" Lowery of Boyle; father, Justin Watson of Cleveland; brother, Jack Watson of Cleveland; maternal grandparents, Beverly Elmore (Gary) of Boyle and H.C. Lowery, Jr. of Merigold; paternal grandparents, Jo Donna Watson (A.B. Cox) of Cleveland; aunt, Sandi Davis of Cleveland; uncles, H.C. Lowery, III (Callie) of Belzoni, and Michael Lowery of Cleveland; great-grandfather, John Oswalt (Frankie) of Merigold; great-grandmother, Laverne Watson of Cleveland; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Tray Lowery, Michael Lowery, Howard Flowers, Larry Scruggs, George Wilson, Kenny Beevers, Lee Tedder, and Michael Powell. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Elmore, Danny Oswalt (in memoriam), C.T. Bowles, Bubba Murphy, and Buddy Lowery.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Parker's special nurse, Evita Lynom; and his amazing teacher, Denise Fountain.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Batson Children's Hospital in honor of Parker Watson.
