Jonnie Poynor

Jonnie Malinda Featherston Poynor, 79, of Boyle, MS, died Friday, February 11, 2022, at Providence Assisted Living in Cleveland, MS surrounded by family. Mrs. Poynor was born on April 3, 1942, in Blytheville, Arkansas to James "Harry" and Burbon Featherston. She was raised in Caruthersville, Missouri and graduated from Caruthersville High School. On September 27, 1967, she married Donald Edward Poynor in Los Angeles, California.

Mr. and Mrs. Poynor moved to the Mississippi Delta to the Featherston Family farm in 1968. She retired as a bookkeeper and enjoyed traveling with her husband. She was a very creative artist and loved to make jewelry. She enjoyed decorating her home for Christmas so much that she won the Best Decorations contest each year while living in Ruleville, MS for a decade. She loved watching her favorite team, the Atlanta Braves, play baseball.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.

Survivors include her children, Randy and Malinda (Poynor) Battey of Brandon, MS; Les and April (Boswell) Poynor of Boyle, MS; grandchildren, Ethan and Dallas (Poynor) Jackson of Cleveland, MS, Colby and Tatum Poynor of Boyle, MS, Hannah and Taylor Battey of Brandon, MS; great grandchildren, Rivers Steelman and Greyson Jackson of Cleveland, MS.
