Jose Lopez, Sr.

Jose Lopez, Sr., 72, of Merigold, MS, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2019, at Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland, MS. Visitation will be 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2019, at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow beginning at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2019, at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church with Father Kent Bowlds officiating. Interment will be in Delta Heights Memorial Garden Cemetery.
Jose was born on October 18, 1946, to Alejandro and Augustina Lopez in Nueces County, Texas. On September 24, 1964, he married Eloise Garcia in Duncan, MS. He spent his days working as a mechanic for Duofast for 28 years before retiring. Jose loved being with his family no matter the occasion from holidays to family reunions. He enjoyed eating and watching his wife cook. Jose was always with his loving wife, Eloise Garcia Lopez.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alejandro and Augustina Lopez; and brothers, Johnny Lopez, Alejandro Lopez, David Lopez, and Raymond Lopez.
Jose is survived by beloved wife, Eloise Lopez in Merigold; children, Jose Lopez, Jr. of Merigold, Benny Lopez of Merigold, Augustina Morse of Merigold, Gilbert Lopez (Ann Corrine) of Cleveland, and Ruth Ann Luciano (Arnold) of Ruleville; grandchildren, Trae Lopez of Merigold, Kim Crocker of Cleveland, Nathalia Lopez of Florida, Keari Brenson of Cleveland, Allison Morse of Cleveland, Ashley Morse of Merigold, Heather Lishman of Cleveland, Chaz Lopez of Cleveland, Gilbert Lopez, Jr. of Cleveland, Alex Lopez of Cleveland, Mia Luciano of Cleveland, and Co Luciano of Cleveland; great-grandchildren, Aaden Lopez of Merigold, Ariana Lopez of Merigold, William Fortenberry of Merigold, Saide Fortenberry of Merigold, Eli Fortenberry of Merigold, Quinn Lishman of Cleveland, Asher Lishman of Cleveland, and Reyes Moran of Cleveland; and siblings, Robert Lopez of Cleveland, Alvino Lopez of Leland, Augustina Hill of Searcy, AR, Lupe Lopez of Texas, Maria Caudillo of California, Delfina Overton of Searcy, AR, and Juana Lopez of AL.   
Pallbearers will be Arnold Luciano, Eckward Gong, Willie Daniel, Freddie Ware, Doug Yarbrough, and Bubba Murphy. Honorary pallbearer Gilbert Lopez, Jr.
