Mrs. Yuk Kam Chow Joe, 92, of Ewa Beach, HI and Cleveland, MS, passed away on April 18, 2018. Visitation will be 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., Monday, May 14, 2018, at Ray Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. James Breland Officiating. Interment will be in North Cleveland Cemetery.
Kam was born on December 30, 1925, to Ben Wong and Quon Nyan Shee in Guangzhou, China. She married Wing Yam Joe in Kowloon, Hong Kong, on June 29, 1948. She worked as a grocer for more than 50 years in Cleveland, MS. She loved her family, friends, mahjong and cooking. She had the best recipes, especially her jellyrolls.
Kam raised five boys while working in the store, going to church and enjoying social gatherings. For the past eight years, she enjoyed life in Honolulu, Hawaii.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Quon Nyan Wong; husband, Wing Yam Joe; and sons, Rocky Ming and Daniel Fot.
Kam is survived by her sons, Teddy Yen (Linda), Arnold Dick (Janet), and Wayne Sai (Lisa); and grandchildren, Kimberly Jasmine KooJoe (Mason), and Stephanie Diane.
