Kathryn Watson Mann, 89, of Cleveland, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Skene Baptist Church. Celebration of Life services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Skene Baptist Church. Interment will immediately follow in New Cleveland Cemetery.
Mrs. Mann was born October 18, 1924 in Rolling Fork, MS to Edgar and Purity Watson. Kathryn married Albert (Sonny) Rhuben Mann, Jr. on December 29, 1946 in the home of his parents, Albert and Marie Mann of Skene, MS.
Kathryn graduated from Delta State Teachers College. She had a love and passion for teachinig and helping children in their education. She taught elementary education in the Cleveland School System and later retired from teaching at Bayou Academy. After retiring from teaching she preceded to work in the family business, Mann trucking until its close. She was a member of Skene Baptist Church and also taught Sunday School for many years.
Mrs. Mann is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Purity Watson; sister, Rosa Lee Newcomb; brother, Buddy (J.W.) Watson; husband, A.R. Mann, Jr (Sonny); and her son, William (Bill) Mann.
Survivors are her devoted son, Bert Mann and his wife Patsy, and daughter- in- law, Linda Mann of Grenada, MS; grandchildren, Kristy Kitchings (Todd) of Shaw, MS, Kelly Hardin (Kris) of Houston, TX, Katie Bailey (Andy) of Grenada, MS, and Beth Mann of Grenada, MS; great grandchildren, Tyler Kitchings, Koleman Hardin, Madison Kitchings, Karley Hardin, Charlie Bailey.
