Lacy Fortenberry

Mr. Lacey Ray Fortenberry, 76, of Pelahahtchie, MS died at University Medical Center in Jackson on September 12, 2010. A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m in North Cleveland Cemetery under the direction of Ray Funeral Home, with Rev. James Wilkerson officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00- 2:00 Wednesday, September15, 2010 at Ray Funeral Home.
Lacey Ray Fortenberry was born July 18, 1934 in Sumner, MS to George H. Fortenberry and Eliza Hollowell. He was raised in Hawthorn, NV, where he joined the United States Air Force, and retired in 1972. After his retirement he resided in Cleveland, MS for several years, before moving to the Jackson, MS area.
Mr. Fortenberry is preceded in death by his parents, George H. Fortenberry and Eliza Hollowell; brothers, Leroy Fortenberry, Morris Fortenberry, and Fred Fortenberry.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Sims Fortenberry; daughter, Cindy Omire (Patrick) of Brandon, MS; two sons; Douglas Ray Fortenberry (Angela) of Midwest City, OK and Randy Fortenberry (Michelle) of Brandon, MS; sister, Mildred Gazaway of Skipper Sparks, NV; seven grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
