Mr. Lacy Keeton, 82, cherished resident of Cleveland, MS, and a lifelong servant of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was called home to be with the Lord on July 13, 2024. A visitation will be held Monday, July 15, 2024, from 10-11 am at Cleveland Church of God following a Celebration of Life service at 11am at Clevland Church of God. A Graveside service will proceed in the Forest Memorial Park Cemetery.
On this day, we gather to pay tribute to the remarkable life of Lacy, who graced this world on June 10, 1942, in Brazil, MS, nestled in Tallahatchie County to his parents, Welden Brady Keeton & Maggie Booth Keeton. Embracing his formative years in the gentle embrace of this region, he pursued his education at West Tallahatchie High School. Throughout a distinguished career spanning over three decades in the manufacturing sector, Lacy's journey led him to a pivotal role as a manager at Parchman Prison Industries for the final 15 years. His dedication and expertise left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
In matters of faith and community, Lacy's presence shone brightly. For numerous years, he lent his wisdom and compassion to the Cleveland Church of God Pastoral Council, exemplifying steadfast devotion. His commitment to the congregation spanned over three decades, a testament to his unwavering faith and camaraderie.
Yet, amidst his myriad accomplishments, Lacy's true joy emanated from his cherished family. His love knew no bounds as he nurtured profound relationships with his beloved wife, children, and treasured grands & great grands. His legacy resonates through the countless lives he touched with his selfless affection and enduring kindness.
Lacy is preceded in passing by his parents, Welden Brady Keeton & Maggie Keeton, and his siblings, Ruby Garner, Buddy Keeton, Bill Keeton, Kenny Keeton, Dan Keeton, and Jerry McKinney.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Florence Mauriene Lamb Keeton of Cleveland, MS, Children, Gail Johnson of Scottsboro, AL, Brad (Denise) Keeton of Cleveland, MS, grandchildren, Brooke Boleware, Brittany (Andy) Talkington, Brittany (Kyle) Langston, Brianna (Nelson) Billhofer, Brady Keeton, and a host of loving great-grandchildren, siblings, Nina Spidle of Lambert, MS., and Calvin Keeton of Batesville, MS.
