LaRose Rice Saia

LaRose Rice Saia, 88, of Olive Branch, MS, passed away on June 4, 2017, at Silver Creek Senior Living Facility. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS. Celebration of Life services will immediately follow beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Fish Robinson officiating. Interment will be held in Delta Heights Cemetery.
LaRose was born on December 21, 1928, to Barney Bell Rice and Fannie McKnight Rice in Greenville, MS. She later married her beloved husband, Joseph F. Saia. LaRose enjoyed fishing, bingo, and playing dominos in her spare time. She cherished the time she had with her family and also loved when the family got together so she could cook for them. She was known for having the best oyster dressing and homemade biscuits.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Barney Bell Rice and Fannie McKnight Rice; husband, Joseph F. Saia; four sisters; and one brother.
LaRose is survived by her sons, Joe V. Saia (Cindy W.) of Brandon, MS, John A. Saia (Martha T.) of Hernando, MS, Carmello J. Saia (Cathey) of Sherman, TX, and Barney L. Saia (Sharon Gregory) of Germantown, TN; grandchildren, Joey  Saia, Jereme Saia, Tony Saia, Michael Saia, Emily Stewart, Stacy Kastner, Stephen Saia, and Hannah Saia; and twelve great- grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
