Lawrence 'Earl' Belk

Mr. Lawrence Earl Belk, 76, of Como, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at Baptist memorial Hospital in Oxford. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Ray Funeral Home. Memorial Services will immediately follow beginning at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Ray Funeral Home. Interment will be in Linn Methodist Cemetery. Mr. Belk was born on March 2, 1939, to James Burl Belk, Sr. and Mamie Allene Buckner Belk. He proudly served our country in the Air Force and Army for many years. He worked as a security guard, and was a member of the VFW. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor. Mr. Belk is preceded in death by his parents, James Burl Belk, Sr. and Mamie Allene Buckner Belk; siblings, Burlene Childers, J.B. Belk, Jr., Juanita McLean, Jackie Belk, Glennis Holly, Fred Belk, Cecil Belk, Mavis Fuller, and Eunice Belk. He is survived by his sister, Sue Bailey of Brandon, MS; long-time companion, Betty Webb; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Honorary pallbearers will be Freddy Belk, Jimmy Childers, Luther Childers, Ricky Belk, Arthur Bruce, and Ed Belk.
