Pittman Edwards Sr

Pittman Edwards Sr. was born on August 12, 1938, in Itta Bena, Mississippi, and he went to be with the Lord on April 9, 2025, in Cleveland, Mississippi. A visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on April 12, 2025, at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, Mississippi, followed by a graveside service at Itta Bena City Cemetery at 1:00 PM.  Pallbearers will be Trey Thomas, Dane Deweese, Steve Griffin, Jeffrey, Fioranelli, Jack Price, and Gil Ray.  Honorary Pallbearers are Mark Boone, Joe Ferguson, and Mark Edwards.

Pittman married Charlotte Wynne, September 7, 1961, in Greenwood, MS. He lived a life marked by dedication and hard work, most notably in his impressive 30-year career in the insurance industry. Pittman’s commitment to his profession was a reflection of his character, which was built on the values of integrity and responsibility.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Pittman proudly served in the United States Air Force, embodying the spirit of service that characterized much of his life. His educational journey culminated in a Bachelor’s Degree, a testament to his pursuit of knowledge and personal development.

Pittman's life was enriched by the love of his family, including his late wife, Charlotte Wynne Edwards, with whom he shared 63 cherished years. He is also preceded in death by his father, Tarrantt Lafayette Edwards; mother, Genova Weatherall Edwards; sisters Bobbie Sue Barlow, Marginell Tanner, Johnnie Pearl Picard, Maurgarite Edwards; and brother, Billy Edwards.

Pittman was not only a devoted professional but also a loving family man. He leaves behind his beloved son, Leo Pittman Edwards Jr., and his wife Deanna of Cleveland, Mississippi. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Leo Pittman "Trace" Edwards III, John Butler Edwards, and granddaughter Sara Peyton Edwards, who carry forward his spirit and values.
