Lewis Paul Braswell passed away August 11,2023 at his home in Conway AR. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Linn Baptist Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers are Paul Keeton, Scott Washington, Brad Washington, Joe Orey, and Cy Orey. He was born in Cleveland, MS on September 12, 1947, to Angie Pearl Miller Braswell and Paul S. Braswell. Lewis attended Cleveland Schools and graduated from Delta State University with a degree in business. He was employed in the family business as a glazier. He retired from Bolivar Paint and Glass Company in 2008.
Lewis made a profession of faith as a young boy and loved and served the Lord all his life. He grew up a member of Calvery Baptist Church, Cleveland, MS and in later years belonged to First Baptist Church Boyle. At the time of his death, he was a member of Pickles Gap Baptist Church, Pickles Gap Arkansas.
Lewis loved sports of any kind and played and coached softball until his mid-forties. He then took up bowling and enjoyed that for many years. Lewis was an avid OleMiss fan and could watch the same game over and over again! He enjoyed DSU sports as well. He made sure everyone knew he was not a "Woo-Pig" fan!
Lewis is preceded in death by his parents Angie Pearl and Paul Braswell, sister Faye Braswell, brother J.R. Braswell
Lewis is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Linda Tisdell Braswell, sister Cheryl Braswell Starling (Jim), son, Justin Braswell (Sonia), daughters Hope Braswell (Ken Burke), Amanda Dawson Calfee (Jud), Jennifer Dawson (Logan Frazier), Becky Dawson-Hebert (Doug). Grandchildren: Harlee Garrison (Tyquan Chew), Shianne Garrison, Logan Braswell (Mary), Mikayla Braswell Wilson (Cody), Ansleigh Braswell (Preston Warrington), Brianna Britt, Mallie Britt, Brittany Burke Knox (Devin), Great Grandchildren: Jayana Braswell, and Delta Blu Braswell. Lewis loved his "bonus" Hebert grandchildren and great grandchildren, he especially enjoyed spending time with John, Shiuvaun and Annabelle Hebert. Lewis was very close to his nephew and nieces and their families.
