Lillie Mae Davenport, 68, of Shelby, MS passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at her home in Shelby, MS. Visitation will be 6:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013, from at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at Ray Funeral Home with Bro. Ed Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Adam's Arbor Cemetery in Charleston, MS.
Ms. Davenport was born April 18, 1944, to Johnny Arbuckle and Maggie Irene Mooreman. She enjoyed gardening, reading, fishing, going to church and cooking. She liked to go to the lake and barbequing. Her favorite color was green, and she was always looking after or trying to help others. She loved singing and spending time together with her family and friends. She was a member of the Pace Pentecostal Church.
Ms. Davenport is preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Arbuckle and Maggie Irene Mooreman; brothers, Woodrow Arbuckle and Brooks Arbuckle; sisters, Eugena Gilbert and Hazel Harper; children, Edward Lee Davenport Jr. and Damon Ray Davenport; great grandchild, Chyenne Davenport.
Ms. Davenport is survived by the father of her children, Edward Lee Davenport of Shaw, MS; daughters, Brenda Canady (Stanley) of Shelby, MS, Patricia Walker (Frank) of Merigold, MS, Lillie Faye Contreras (Sammy) of Minter City, MS, and Judy Kent (Kevin) of Tulsa, OK; son, Lonnie Davenport of Shelby, MS; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
