Mrs. Lillie Joyce Mitchell Jones, 72, of Boyle, passed away Monday, October 12, 2015, at Bolivar Medical Center. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 15, 2015, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2015, at Ray Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Haney and Bro. Lee Kirk officiating. Interment will follow in Lehrton Cemetery. Mrs. Jones was born in Minter City, MS on September 9, 1943, to Joseph "Joe" Mitchell and Lillie Mae Wells Mitchell. On January 14, 1960, she married Jimmy Lee Jones in Pace, MS. She worked at Baxter's Laboratory as a line worker for many years, and in her free time she enjoyed sewing and shopping. She was a member of Interstate Baptist Church. One thing she will be remembered by is her dedication and love for her family especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Lillie Mae Mitchell; grandson Brandon Jones; brothers, James O. Mitchell, William O. Mitchell, Leonard Mitchell, Troy Mitchell, and K. C. Mitchell; and sisters, Marvel Hall, Edna Vaughn, Clara Grantham, and Geneva Criddle. Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jimmy Jones of Boyle, MS; children, Kenny Jones (Jackie) of Cleveland, Cherry Powell (Larry) of Shaw, and Sherman "Knottie" Jones (Cindy) of Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Matthew Jones (Lauren), Darby Jones, Nat Jones and Stephanie Fleming all of Cleveland, Steven "Morgan" Tindle of Merigold, and Bethany Chritchlow (Hans) of Monroe, LA; great-grandchildren, Camile Jones, Peyton Fleming, Brynlee Hicks, Jaxon Tindle, and Benjamin Cole Chritchlow; and sister, Margie Boatman of Baker, LA. Pallbearers will be Steven "Morgan" Tindle, Nat Jones, Matthew Jones, Josh Edwards, Coby Brock, and Hans Chritchlow.
