Linda James

Linda Sue James, 73, of Cleveland, MS went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 3, 2022. A Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Ray Funeral Home from 10-11 a.m. with a Memorial Service immediately following.

Linda was born in the Mississippi Delta on November 6, 1948 to Thadis and Clarice Powell. She was raised in the delta, where she attended and graduated from Cleveland High School. After graduation, she married Robert White and they had one daughter, Angela. Later in life Linda married Gilbert James. When he passed away, she moved back to the Mississippi Delta where she worked for 20 years at the Bolivar County Community Action Agency until her passing. She has always had a green thumb, and loved to cook. Most of all, she loved to serve others and loved being a mom.

She is preceded in passing by her parents, Thadis and Clarice Powell, her husbands Robert White and Gilbert James, and her brother, Tim Powell.

She is survived by her daughter, Angela Green and her brother, Larry Powell (Kathy).
