Mr. Lindsey Carnahan Meador, 71, of Cleveland, MS went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 12, 2021. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 15, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Calvary Episcopal Church, Rayner House, Cleveland, MS. A memorial service will be Thursday, December 16, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Les Hegwood officiating.
Lindsey was born July 15, 1950, to Mary Alice & Lindsey Allen Meador in Pace, MS. He married Gwen Parrish December 23, 1972. Lindsey graduated with honors from Delta State University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. He went on to graduate with honors from the University of Memphis School of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review, in 1976. He was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, Mississippi State Bar Association, Mississippi Association for Justice, and the Mississippi Supreme Court, Complaint Tribunal. Lindsey worked as a clerk with Mississippi Supreme Court and was a founding partner of Meador & Crump Law firm in Cleveland, MS. In his spare time, he enjoyed hiking, running, cycling, scuba diving, and coaching his four children in competitive swimming.
Lindsey is survived by his loving wife, Gwen Parrish Meador; children, Allyn Meador Hinton (Brandon Hinton), John Elliot Meador (Brittany Meador), Erin Meador Johnson (Spencer Johnson), and Alyce Meador Marshburn (Tucker Marshburn); grandchildren, Madeline Elaine Meador, John Emerson Meador, Vayda Rose Marshburn, Lowry Kate Johnson, Reese Louise Marshburn, and Emmeline Hart Johnson; and sister, Margaret (Peggy) Koonce. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lindsey Allen Meador and Mary Alice Carnahan Meador; and sibling, Mary Alice Cates.
