Lorene Mosley Steadman, 97, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013, at her home. Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 17, 2013, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Services will immediately follow beginning at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 17, 2013, at Ray Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Braswell officiating. Interment will be in New Cleveland Cemetery.
Mrs. Steadman was born in Union County, MS on August 28, 1916, to James Hubert Mosley and Lee Lyon Mosley. She worked as a cafeteria worker for 20 years with the Cleveland School District. She married Thomas Elmer Steadman on June 2, 1934. She was a member of Midsouth Baptist Church. She loved to garden, cook, mow the yard, and watch Braves baseball.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James Hubert Mosley and Lee Lyon Mosley; husband, Thomas Elmer Steadman; and grandson, Danny Oswalt.
She is survived by her children, Louise Oswalt of Cleveland, Melvin Steadman (Devra) of Cleveland, Annette Higginbotham (Larry) of Norfolk, NE, and Janet Hall (Richard) of Weaver, AL; 14 grandchildren, 31great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be James Steadman, Kenneth Steadman, Russell Steadman, John Hunt, Leslie Steadman, and Cade Junkin.
In memory of Mrs. Steadman, donations may be made to Midsouth Baptist Church.
