Mrs. Lydia Collins Hausner, 98, of Webb, MS, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2013, at North Sunflower Medical Center. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at Sumner Baptist Church in Sumner, MS. Celebration of Life Services will immediately follow beginning at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at Sumner Baptist Church with Rev. William Milam officiating. A second visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at Lighthouse Christian Center in Dexter, MO. Interment will be at 1:00 pm. Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at Mound Cemetery in New Madrid, MO.
Mrs. Hausner was born in Olive, KY on April 21, 1915, to John D. Collins and Alice Johnson Collins. On February 20, 1933, she married George Hausner in New Madrid, MO. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Homemakers Club in Smith Community as well as Tallahachie County, and she attended Webb Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, and knitting and she had many award winning quilts. Her family described her as a hard working woman who stayed busy.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Alice Collins; her spouse, George Hausner; daughter, George Ann Hausner; 6 sisters; 1 brother; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hausner is survived by her daughter, Cleta White (Don) of Bloomfield, MO; sons, James Hausner (Rita) of Sequin, TX and Ray Hausner (Judi) of Webb, MS; grandchildren, Robin White of Bowling Green, KY, Kevin White of Madison, AL, Darren White of Bloomfield, MO, Shannon Potter of Grenada, MS, Steve Hausner of Webb, MS, Brad Hausner of Greenwood, MS, Angela Pena of Pflugerville, TX; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
