Stanley "M A C" Donald McNeil, age 92, was called home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 in Cleveland, MS. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. in the New Cleveland Cemetery. MAC was born to Clarence and Valora McNeil on October 23, 1927 in Palestine, IL. He joined the United States Army and was a combat medic. Stanley served in the Vietnam and Korean War. He served his country for twenty years and his honors include a Bronze Star, Metal of Valor, and an Army Commendation Metal. He married Janie Mae Smallwood November 25, 1955 in Fort Jackson, SC. Some of his fondest memories were his buddies the Kia in the Korean War. Stanley was always planting and working in his garden. He was strong in his faith and loved being with his friends at Boyle Methodist Church especially his Sunday School class. He always said "I know I will see them again." MAC is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Valora McNeil; wife, Janie Mae Smallwood; sons, Donald Jay McNeil and Willis Jason McNeil; sisters, Anna Hoel, Thelma Reid, and Majorie Valducci; brothers, Elbert McNeil and James "Jimmy McNeil". Stanley is survived by his daughters, Ramona "Gay" McNeil Salley (James) and Lisa Merline Mcneil Helton; son, Claude Rueben McNeil; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St Jude.
