Maggie Wingo Brooks, 86, passed away at Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland, MS. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 2:00 at Merigold Methodist Church in Merigold with Rev. Billy Owens officiating. Visitation will be at 1:00 Thursday, October 28, 2010, at Merigold Methodist Church. The burial will follow the funeral in North Cleveland Cemetery.
Mrs. Brooks was born in Toccopola, MS to Tony Wingo and Ruby Alice Poynor, June 27, 1924. She married Harry Pat Brooks July 21, 1950 in Tunica, MS. Mrs. Brooks was an avid antique collector, she also owned and operated the âSaturday Shopâ in Cleveland. She had a degree from MSCW and was a science teacher at Merigold High School and Home Economist for Sunflower County High Schools.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Ruby Wingo; and son, Randy Wingo Brooks.
Mrs. Brooks is survived by her husband, Harry Pat Brooks of Cleveland, MS; daughters, Karon Brooks Kemp (Don) of Suwanee, GA, and Patsy Brooks Bane (Bob) of Jackson, MS.; grandchildren, Andrew and Alice Kemp of Suwanee, GA, and Randle and Lauren Bane of Jackson, MS.
