Maggie Reed

Mrs. Maggie Jackson Reed, 98, of Boyle, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at Bolivar Medical Center. Visitation will be 1:00-2:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Services will immediately follow beginning at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, January, 23, 2013 at Ray Funeral Home with Bro. Tim McCarter officiating. Interment will be in New Cleveland Cemetery.
Mrs. Reed was born in Cleveland on January 15, 1915, to Drew Jackson, Jr. and Leona Hughes Jackson. She married Joe Tom Reed in 1930 and dedicated much of her time to caring for her family. She loved yard work and was an excellent gardener. She enjoyed cooking, riding the lawn mower, crocheting, needlework, making handmade afghans for her grandchildren, picking pecans and spending time with her dogs.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Drew and Leona Jackson and her husband, Joe Tom Reed.
Mrs. Reed is survived by her son, Joe Wayne Reed (Dottie) of Boyle; daughter, Anita Reed Griffith (Nicky) of Cleveland; grandchildren, Lori Reed Cobb of Baton Rouge, LA, Joe Wayne Reed, Jr. (Cristy) of Boyle, David M. Griffith of Cleveland, Will Reed Griffith of Nashville, and William Nicholas Griffith, Jr. (Michelle) and family; great-grandchildren, Henry Cobb IV (Julia) of Baton Rouge, LA, Mitchell Reed Cobb of Baton Rouge, LA, Joey Reed of Cleveland, and Brett Reed Campbell (Jason) of Boyle; great-great-grandson, Linus Edward "Camp" Campbell of Boyle; and sister, Idalee Chadick of Ocala, FL.
Pallbearers will be Joe Wayne Reed, Jr., David M. Griffith, Will Reed Griffith, Henry Cobb IV, Mitchell Cobb, Joey Reed, Nick Griffith, and Jason Campbell.
Memorials can be made to Cleveland Church of Christ 212 Ronaldman Rd. Cleveland, MS 38732.
